McLaren F1 goes Interactive

Music Signed Off on Innovative Behind-The-Scenes Film

We were recently approached by our good friends at Sugar Rush Advertising to produce the soundtrack to an inventive new interactive film for Formula 1 heavyweights, McLaren.

The idea was to produce a truly immersive viewing experience, and when watched online, the website would pull in personalised details from the user's online social media presence. Fronted by Sky F1 presenter and adrenaline junkie, Natalie Pinkham, the film allows the viewer exclusive behind-the-scenes access at Team McLaren HQ, with hands-on understanding of classic Formula 1 cars, heritage and future technology. The piece also features team McLaren driver Jenson Button and sporting director Sam Michael.

The client expressed a need for the music to literally 'drive' the film forward and keep a solid pace and momentum, to represent the constant innovation inherent at McLaren. So we produced an exciting electro-rock track that both outlined McLaren's cutting-edge ideology and yet didn't stray into being overly cold or mechanical, to counterbalance the minimalist nature of the visuals, shot over several days at the McLaren MTC itself.

The film is currently online. Have a listen and try it out for yourself at:
